This is really last year’s news, but since I’ve just begun discussing QR Codes here, I thought I’d quickly share some amazing work by Takashi Murakami with Creative Agency, SET [language: Japanese]. He is noted as the first one to take QR Codes beyond their black & white block structure. The code above was created for Louis Vuitton.

It did take some effort to get this code to scan. I tried four different apps on my iPhone. Finally NeoReader was able to figure out the code. It links to the Japanese Louis Vuitton store.

While I love the look, I’m not sure trading scan-ability for style is going to work for many audiences outside the Japanese LV customer.
